The Purebred Biewer
A breed of dog is produced by selecting and mating dogs with certain desired characteristics. The offspring of such matings are then inbred, i.e., mated with litter mates or close relatives. After about eight generations, the line usually breeds true, i.e., most offspring resemble each other. Then standard traits can be established for the new breed. A purebred dog is one that conforms to the standards of a certain breed and whose lineage, or pedigree, has been recorded for a certain period of time.
One of the principal functions of this Breed Registry is to maintain the records of lineage of individual purebred Biewers in order to preserve breed standards.
Our goal is to maintain a registry for purebred Biewers and preserve its integrity.
The Biewer National Registry Stud Book is one the oldest purebred dog registry in the United States, in the Biewer breed. The BNR records date back to 1984 and comprise several hundred pedigrees for a database that is the largest in North America.
The BNR registers all Biewers…records registered names, breeding background, colors, ages, sex…documents ownership…duplicates lost registration certificates…and enrolls litters. We offer a complete registry for all your needs that surpasses all other Biewer Registries that are now developed in the United States. The BNR registers Biewers by Germany and AKC, FSS, Foundation Stock Service requirements, NOT by breed agenda. We have currently started our Test Line Division that will include the new lines that are through the Biewer/Yorkshire breedings, with the mentorship of the AKC/FSS program. To ensure that our database is complete for future acceptance if the Biewer breed is in AKC. Please feel free to browse the website for additional information and services.
The BNR, Biewer National Registry is proud to have the support it has had from the Biewer Community. Since the registry has started the BNR has collected hundreds of pedigrees for it's database, not to mention the historical pictures of the development of the Biewer al a' Pom Pon. Being the leaders in documentation of the Biewer since it's arrival to North America in 2003.
